One-to-One Tutorials and Portfolio Reviews
I currently offer one-to-one private tutorials for students applying to art school, whether that’s A-level, Foundation, BA, or MA courses in Illustration.
- Mock interviews
- Portfolio reviews

Preparing an art portfolio can feel overwhelming. It’s not always easy to know what to include, or how to approach an interview. My tutoring is designed to help you discover what makes your work unique, refine your ideas, and build a portfolio that truly reflects your potential.
With a BA in Art History, an MA in Children’s Book Illustration, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, I bring both academic insight and practical experience to my teaching. Over the past seven years as an Associate Lecturer in Illustration (and a year as Course Director on an MA Illustration), I’ve supported students at every stage of their creative journey.
What sets my tutoring apart:
- Finding your strengths – I work with you to identify what makes your work distinctive.
- Practical, actionable advice – You’ll leave each session with clear next steps.
- Creative guidance rooted in real experience – With 10 years’ experience in galleries, curation, and programming, I draw on a wide pool of references and contemporary influences to keep your portfolio fresh and relevant.
- A wealth of industry knowledge – From running pop-up galleries to working at art fairs, book fairs, and comic fairs, I’ve experienced the art world from many angles, and I pass this insight on to my students.
With a career spanning education, illustration, and the art industry, I’ve seen how diverse and exciting creative paths can be. My role is to help you clarify your vision, present your best work, and step confidently into the next stage of your artistic development.
I’d love to work with you and support your next steps.
