I work as a freelance illustrator based in Cambridge UK. Most recently I have published ‘Kids Yoga’, written and illustrated by me and long-listed for the Cilip Carnegie Medal 2018. Previously I have done the illustrations for ‘Virvla’, a picture book for children written by Therese Loreskar (in Swedish) and for ‘My First Orchestra Book’, written by Genevieve Helsby and published by Naxos, and ‘Zanna et le Trucmuche’, written by Anita Lehman published by editions uTopie in 2019. I have also done the illustrations and animations for two apps ‘My First Orchestra App’ and ‘LoveChoir’. I continue to do illustrations for Moderna Museets education department in Stockholm, Centre for Family Research (University of Cambridge) and many other organisations. You might also have seen my popular Yoga Poster for kids now available from Yogamatters and Heffers Book shop in Cambridge, as well as through yoga centres world-wide. My next children’s book will be published September 2020 with Alfabeta in Sweden, a book written by Ylva Hillstrom and illustrated by me. It is a very very interesting project and I will let you know about it soon.
And a little bit of background: Following studies in Art History in Uppsala and Madrid I moved to London in 2000. There I worked at a number of contemporary art galleries and as Director of the Delfina Studio Trust, a large residency programme for international artists. Whenever I could I was drawing and painting and then, after 6 inspiring years in the heart of London, I moved with my family to a remote corner of the Isle of Mull, a Scottish island seven hours from Glasgow. Distractions were few and I finally set up my first proper studio in our garden. I started exhibiting my own work, primarily paintings, in group exhibitions and at a number of solo shows. I discovered a strong narrative theme running through all my work with new characters constantly developing and I was drawn towards illustration. I graduated from my MA in Children’s Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art (Professor Martin Salisbury) in 2012. I now have a studio in Old Industries, Milton, Cambridge, where I do most of my paintings and studio visits can be arranged.
I am especially interested in illustrating children’s books and young fiction, as well as editorial commissions. I am represented by https://www.howdoyoudoagency.com/

I am also an Associate Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University at the BA and MA in Illustration. I give lectures/workshops and classes on Illustration, Art History, Contemporary Art, Creativity and how to get started. Previous talks include: Working digitally at Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Artists and International Residencies at both Brussels Art Fair, Frieze Art Fair and Milan and on individual artists and contemporary art at Camden Art Centre, Delfina Studio Trust and many more. Occationally I prepare a workshop for children and families, most recently a super fun ‘Planet Plasticine’, using plasticine to make a stop motion movie, at Elcaf Comic Fair in East London 2019.
