Virtual Art Events
… is a series of bespoke Art & Drawing workshops by practising artist and illustrator Karin Eklund. Aimed at companies, small groups or individuals, these workshops offer an opportunity to gather online with like-minded people to learn and practice art.
Whatever your interests Karin will create a structured programme tailored to the needs of your group while making the most of the advantages and limitations of the online medium.
Drawing, painting or making art with collage or found materials is a fun and relaxing activity everyone can enjoy regardless of skill level.
– Learn new skills
– Brush up on skills that risk becoming forgotten
– Show off your hidden artistic side
– Develop new techniques for pushing you art work to new heights
– Share your work and your interests, give and receive hints, tips and feedback from peers

As an Associate Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University for the MA and BA courses in Illustration I give lectures, workshops and classes on Illustration, Art History, Contemporary Art, Creativity and how to get started with digital workflows. Previous talks include: Working Digitally at Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Artists and International Residencies at Brussels Art Fair, Frieze Art Fair and in Milan. I’ve also given many talks on individual artists and contemporary art in all sorts of venues such as Camden Art Centre and the Delfina Studio Trust. Occasionally I offer workshops for children and families, the most recent being a super fun ‘Planet Plasticine‘ event at ELCAF Comic Fair in East London 2019, where we used plasticine to make stop motion movies.
Please contact me to discuss your event, school visit, or any other teaching opportunity to which I might apply my passion and experience.
